Hearing your eating disorder voice become louder can make you feel stuck and out of control in your own body. This can be immensely difficult if you’re restricting, bingeing, or involved in compensatory behaviors. Being able to find strength and power within yourself through reframing these negative core beliefs founded by the eating disorder voice is an essential first step to remove yourself away from the constant constriction. Additionally, being able to separate yourself from your eating disorder and recognize you have several strengths and values unique to your identity that your eating disorder can never take away is a variable to always be mindful of when times get tough and lack of self-worth arises. You are always worth more than your diagnosis and taking time to seek treatment is one giant step in part of the journey through taking back your body and showing courage.
